In order to prevent any water penetration, a flashing is required with any twin wall installation where a twin wall pipe comes through the roof of a property. The rubber/silicone upstand (the part the pipe goes through) is cut to the size of your pipe so that your pipe can be pushed through, leaving you with a water-tight fit.
TOP TIP: Because the flashing is designed to be very tight around your pipe, you may find it difficult to push the pipe through the rubber after it's been cut - our top tip is to cover the inner part of the rubber with washing up liquid, reducing friction and allowing for a much smoother installation
Tiled/slate roof
For those of you with a tiled/slate pitched roof, it can be difficult to find the right flashing to suit the specific pitch of your roof. However, with our Seldek flashing range you need not worry, as these flashings are designed to be used with roof pitched of 0° to 45° - taking out the hassle and saving you time and money. You do not need a fixing kit with this type of flashing, as the lead/aluminium 'apron' simply fits underneath the slates/tiles - allowing for an easy installation.
Metal/profiled roof
If you have a metal or profiled roof there are specific flashings for you to use; these flashings, made from silcone (or EDPM for low temperature), can be manipulated into whichever shape you need and installed using a fixing kit (or kits) containing special screws and screw covers.
